For ALL the criticism he and "MH" experienced over athletics during this tenure, Dr. Savoie was EXTREMELY supportive of UL athletics. Might I say to a fault at times.
He could have been more, but right now, I'm going to reflect more on what he did, which is elevate UL academics and beautify the campus to another level and I know he cared immensly about the University. So, thank you Dr Savoie and hope you can enjoy your time in whatever capacity you choose.
Look, let’s be honest here. Had our university leadership not been so gun-ho on being competitive in Sun Belt athletics, none of these problems would be happening.
That first season under Hud, where we went 9-4 and won the NOLA Bowl, was one of the worst things that could have happened to our university. It made us take our focus off of the important things to chase the frivolous things.
