News: Louisiana President Dr. Joseph Savoie announced today that he will be transitioning to a new role as president emeritus.

The University of Louisiana System Board has named Dr. Jamie Hebert as interim president. Hebert begins on Friday, August 1.

I don’t know if he picks it on his call alone, but the Governor holds a lot of influence.

Hopefully he stays distracted with LSU and Omar the Tiger.

I do wonder if trying something different might help, though. Someone who does have higher education graduate credentials, but also a successful time in the business sector, rather than just a career in government academia.

But hell if I know anything about this stuff.
