Thread: G6 Hosting P4

    Love the Do's and Don'ts except 1.

Two P4 money games in separate years and a H-n-H with a AC school ... is identical in scope to a 3-for-1, except you get a P4 at home rather than an AC school.

What is the more important priority? Is it making the CFP, then if so, you cannot schedule two P4 games in the same season, which is what 2 or 3-for-1 would require from a budget perspective.

3-for-1 require long term relationships, 12 years out and more.

While I prefer 2 P4 games annually because I think this is the minimum to be considered for CFP hunt. Just one is doable.

You can have three or more 3-for-1s going on simultaneously and never play more than one P4 annually.

    Build relationships with individual schools.

3-for-1 is better than the streak we are on.
Relationships are cool and all, but it is the bottom line that matters.

    I agree.

The bottom line on a 3-for-1 relationship is identical or better than two (different opponent) money games and a H-n-H with a G5.

Each represents 4 games, but a 3-for-1 P4 relationship will get more through the gates.

Also, we could end up with only 5 home games one year which would lower the amount you could charge for your season tickets and walk up tickets as well. Schools that are doing this are in better financial situations than we are. Look at CajunT's recent post in other threads and you will get an idea of how poor our athletic financial situation is at this time. Consider the facilities which are still needed and the revenue sharing which will now go to our athletes when evaluating the finances. I am sure if someone went to Dr. Maggard and said I want to donate 1 million dollars to have a P4 come to Cajun Field he would jump on it quickly. In reality that is what it will cost us to have this happen at this stage.
This math only makes sense if you are locked into 6 home games per year.

Converting 1 non-conference slot to another P4 game gives you the money to do 2 for 1's with the other.

Mike, Its not like we are balancing the budget with our scheduling. We are losing millions with the current system, are we not? You would probably make up the difference in attendance, F & B sales, etc.

We drew 21K for Oklahoma State when they had both Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders on the roster. For some strange reason, our fans do not show up for P4 games unless it is an SEC team.

    Picture this:

We schedule a P4 school to play at Cajun field in September.

Espn catches wind, and decides to broadcast the game at 11am.

Weather for the day is scattered thunderstorms

    14500 attend

    RAGIN PAGIN RIOTS.
