Ban the kids from the hill
How many kids are actually playing on the hill at a good weather game? 20-50 maybe? I think building something that generates revenue is way better than grass for a couple rug rats to be occupied. And kids that are playing on the hill are old enough to understand where they are and to watch the game are sitting down with your phone and play games. I personally don’t think the hill is necessary. My 2 daughters sat with me for years. Never played on the hill.
Other option would have been bring the seats further around the sides and leave a narrower hill maybe only slightly wider than the UL landscaped logo.
Some ganes there may be a few hundred kids on the hill
I mean actually playing on the hill. A lot of families sit on the hill. But using the hill itself??? What if we made the hill layered and kept it grass like ole miss baseball outfield. You could probably do 5 layers. 10x10 areas and sell them as a season pass like a tailgate spot. Something inexpensive for family’s. Like must have a young ragin Cajun pass to purchase or something. Make it like $50 a game and it comes with 5 or 6 tickets into the game.
Yard Goat in the NEZ. Then everyone migrates to YG1 on Bertrand. That's a certainty and those are hard to come by.
Profit goes to FOOTBALL.
"Playing on the hill" = sprinting down it at full speed into a chain link fence
Tiered sections of grass would work for my dudes.. They just want to play with their friends and run around a little bit. Sitting in a seat and watching UL play a team they've never heard of is an impossible ask.
I’ve tried to get my son to sit through an entire football game it’s just not happening.
But there’s a way to make it work for everyone. Imagine a space where adults can socialize while kids play nearby. A shared area that respects both experiences.
If you take away the hill the one place families feel like they can bring there kids our attendance drops. Simple as that.
