    The final 30 or 40 or 50 would be a bloodbath for inclusion. There are only 20 or so schools in the top tier. Bout all the rest are in the same large boat we are in. But the SEC will protect their bottom as will Big Ten. After all, they need wins too.

    In non football sports, the "they played a tough schedule" already gets some into the post season.

    Strong idea! Makes too much sense. I bet ESPN could still make a melodramatic weekly show about the rankings though. A whole season's worth! If corporate media can make more money from what you've described, maybe they'd get on board. As always, follow the money!
