    Thanks.
Thanks! I know at times it is depressing to think about what we could have accomplished over the years had we had the right leadership. I refuse to live the rest of my life thinking about what could have been and decided I will enjoy what we have an increase my commitment as much as I can. I'm not disillusioned about some Big 12 membership that will never happen. My hope is that eventually we are playing schools that left us behind like East Carolina, UAB, USM and a few others.

Hell, some of these programs are fighting tooth and nail like Memphis, throw $200M at a conference begging them only to be declined. We simply can't do that and even then, if they feel you are beneath them, the money won't buy you a house in that neighborhood.

We need to finish our facilities and raise revenue to get ready for the next regional alignment. But it won't be going anywhere West, and it won't be the P5.

I remember when we were desperately trying to get our budget to 10 mill, while at the same time, USM was in the 20's. Fast forward 40 years, they are still in the 20's. Blows my mind.

Yes, I agree Turbine generally in life that is a true statement. Where I disagree is in applying this statement to what Maggard did or didn't do in the context of the Pac 8 at this time.

The former president did not give a crap about athletics long term or the growth of it. So he killed most ideas and offers by those people that had the funds because he feared the growth of athletics.

In no way do I see that in Dr. Maggard. In fact, he continues to push for facility improvements like the stadium because no matter how much money you throw at an opportunity, what you have to offer is your brand. The difference is he has spent money and lost over $8M this past fiscal year. He has a boss that is in his last months or year of his tenure that has been told by state auditors that you will not do it again! No large deficits in the budget. No matter what other states are allowing, losing money in most programs is common knowledge, our state government has put the hammer down.

He's not perfect in any manner, but the guy understands that college athletics is a business, and he has to work within the parameters that he is given.
T you have been dead on in regards to all mentioned. I just get tired of wasting my breath most of the time.

With Dr. S retiring in the coming year, our new leadership will be more critical than ever for the future we all want for UL athletics.
