  1. Default AAC Changing its Name

The AAC, American Athletic Conference, has changed its name to the American Conference and has this as its new mascot.

Just an FYI, how they are now branding themselves.

That mascot, I suspect, is AI-generated. A real artist would have worked the logo onto the jersey so it fit the chest contours.

And a conference needs a mascot because... ?

    This one fails to impress.

American is a sinking ship. Chips will fall in the SBC's hand soon. Just have to wait until 2030

I know the hope is that schools like UAB/ECU shake free from the AAC and join the SBC.

But there is an equal chance the upper crust of the AAC poach schools with ample funds (large budgets and large percentages of budget allocated for revenue sharing with athletes) like JMU instead of going primarily for markets. So, it could be a prisoner exchange situation.

After the AAC TV contract falls apart and the SBC’s TV contract is almost equal then it will be fair game.

I also think Memphis is being left out on purpose as the P4 G6 split will come sooner than later for football at least.

    Interesting AAC moto?

The Sun Belt Conference slogan is:

    “Rise Above.”

This slogan reflects the conference’s emphasis on competitiveness, growth, and excellence across its member institutions, both athletically and academically.
