UL AD and Coaches THRILLED With Tech Being Added to Sunbelt West

It goes beyond dumb! Just way beyond!

Almost like wanting to embrace living below mediocrity.

Many of us shared our rage but a couple talking heads and admin embraced the move.

Time to kick a few in the balls or they need to move over! It is a perfect storm and complacency just allows us to sink deeper.

We cant afford to travel out of state for games.

They know what's coming -- eventually we'll spin off into some kind of regional conference thats a mixture of FBS and FCS schools that we can drive to, not unlike the Ice Gators or whatever fringe baseball team we have playing in Lafayette

If LA tech beats us in football this year, I think the seat of our AD and everyone involved in this decision should be hot! Seems like it is a perfect storm.

Only that UL (without the extra L) was the glue that held the SBC conference together.

The Sunbelt would have crumbled into nothingness if UL had bolted to CUSA back before Tech entered.

Based upon UL's inaction on this subject, the Sitting Ducks might become a more appropriate mascot name if this type of gross conference became reality. The only benefit of the doubt I can give to UL administration allowing ltech in is the SBC expecting ULM dropping to FCS in near future. Or just to prevent/buy off any in-State opposition to fully funding east side of football stadium addition. As Turbine mentioned earlier in the thread if its about travel savings there was nothing preventing out of conference annual HnH schedule of football.
