But if it is the same 10k each week but a different 5k each week, over the season that is enough for us to have a sellout. And its more likely reversed at 5k to 10k

I’m not saying it’s a massive difference, but a Southern Miss vs. Tech or ULM vs Tech or Arkansas State vs Tech game would likely draw more interest than one against Troy or Texas State.
There’s a bit more regional familiarity and name recognition with Tech, and that tends to matter especially to casual fans who aren’t deep into conference details. It’s not just about rivalry; it’s about what feels relevant and worth showing up for. Tech has that edge with certain fanbases, and that’s why it could move the needle a little more.
The fact there is 98 pages about this certain subject is a really good indicator.
“I really think Louisiana Tech complements and fits nicely with the Sun Belt Conference (competitively),” Maggard said. “Yes, that was important and then when you look at the geography, it just made a lot of sense.”
Glad they are, because I’m sure not.
So if all options weren't all that great then wouldn't you add a team that wouldn't upset the eastern schools and possibly cause them to break off later. Like does it matter if it only upsets Monroe. Not like they can leave for a better conference. At the very least don't add anyone. All time blunder just to make a few bus league fans happy
We’re such suckers. Us and ULM after the way LTU acted towards us for DECADES.
Would they have done the same favor if the roles were reversed and we were in a rotting conference. Hell no they wouldn’t.
So why in the hell would we have supported them joining the conference unless we’re led either by suckers or scrupleless people.
Everything about this, stinks.
Splitting the State in 3.
Replacing what you already had game wise.
Brand recognition dilution.
What would the SEC think of 3 LSU's in the same conference all located in the State of Louisiana? Would it dilute LSUBR's fan base?
Well how can anyone "really think Louisiana Tech complements and fits nicely with the Sun Belt Conference (competitively),” Maggard said. “Yes, that was important and then when you look at the geography, it just made a lot of sense.”
No matter how small ULM, LA Tech, and Louisiana's fan bases are respectfully, the same principle applies as if you were splitting LSU in three.
