Having said that, I did go to Chris's Poboys today on Pinhook for lunch with my son. The service as excellent and the food was very good which is typical for them.
The one here in Broussard has absolutely gone downhill!

Went to the Fat Pat's in Carencro for the first (and only) time back in 2020 to get a burger to go. I expected a hell of a lot more for almost $20. Burger was very dry and bland. Bread tasted slightly stale..at least the hostess was nice enough. After that experience I never really understood the hype behind the place.

Well I guess you won’t get Fat at Pats….(How was that, Turbine?)

I was curious how well his other restaurant is doing to already be opening something new.
I don’t eat the quesadillas. I eat my burger on buns. My wife went to the mac & cheese place twice she enjoyed it. She gets the kids meal because that’s more than enough food for her. Protein is extra.

You can get their gumbo by the gallon too.

A couple years ago, Fat Pat's was removed from the list of restaurants I will take my family to eat. The prices are way too high for what they serve.

Not just Fat Pat's, but any place charging over $10 for a regular burger is ridiculous.
    Mendez's: $14.99
    Fat Pat's: $12.00

    I will stick to
    Pete's: $9.00
    Broaddus Burgers: $8.79
    Max's: $7.29
    Green Oaks: about $7
    Morvant's: $7.00
    Judice Inn: $4.95

Personally, I prefer: Max's, Green Oaks, & Morvants

I don't eat Gumbo that much in the summer. But their small bowl of chicken & Sausage gumbo with a side of potato salad is a good price and a good roux. The poboys are okay in a pinch, not the best in town. Not that far from my office.

Not a fan of the bread on their poboy either. Their beef poboy with gravy falls apart too easy, but they taste good.

Pete’s is the biggest offender of them all. $9 for a lil Pete and $6 for a side of fries. That place is legal theft.

    Had to go recently for a family function. 3 beers / 2 wines / 1 appetizer…

    $72 American dollars.

On top of that, the endless TSAB promotion as an official sponsor of UL Athletics.

    Never again.

Eat at that one often. Service is great. Food is excellent.

Prices of a burger with fries are comparable to others.
