Once the SBC got 3 of the 4 newbies a few years ago, the breakup became a matter of time. The SBCW was all giddy over USM, while the SBCE was in Mr. Burns mode laughing behind closed doors.

....no more free lunch for college athletic programs. This will somewhat level the playing field back toward UL. JMU and ODU will be greatly impacted by this. Their budgets could immediately shrink by $10M-$15M overnight.
