I think the thing that all of the best known songs have in common is that they are sing along songs. If you hear Enter Sandman, Country Road, Mr. Bright side, or even Callin’ Baton Rouge in a bar room, everyone is going to sing along. Born on the Bayou doesn’t cut the mustard. The closest Cajun sing along song that I can think of is Tee Na Na. Other songs like Livin’ on a Prayer, Lights, Bohemian Rhapsody, or Sweet Caroline (I know, I know) would also work

David Allen Coe's perfect country song verse. Never happen, heads would explode with the first 4 words... "Well I was drunk, the day my mom, got out of prison..."
