The complaint is that it should be the POL - Pride of Louisiana. We are not the University of Acadiana.

Maybe we could get some sponsorship from a local fuel company/oulfield compnay: In the context of military and logistics operations, POL stands for Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants.....see also a slogan like; POL we fuel the cULture??

When I brought up the name change to the Pride of Louisiana for consistency of branding, the Band Director responded saying the consensus was split on POA or POL. I understand the nostalgia of POA, but POL is about a clear branding and ownership of our university name. We are Louisiana! We represent Acadiana and beyond.

To be fair...based on what I've seen over the past years, the price of Louisiana would not by the POA. We don't have the size/numbers and when you consider the bands we've seen from Southern and Grambling...well there's really no comparison. I love the POA, but reality is a MOFO.
