Based on the story, it sounds like this might impact Cajun Field.

Wonder what this "sports arena" entails. Very interesting

Location of the hotel isn't the problem.

Non fan friendly is the problem.

In the 1980's hotels in Abbeville filled up from Cajun Dome conventions. I'm sure Crowley Opelousas New Iberia experienced the same.

Then conventions dried up when CD management started requiring that concessions stayed open during brown bag conventions.

Unrelated but totally related, Louisiana Game Day Athletics can learn from this mistake.

Just because you see $ doesn't mean you should chase it in all cases.

    Tailgating prices need a reset.

History repeating itself. Dreamers always overlook something. Just like Moncus Park, parking and accessibility.

Why in that lot and not the open land across the street?

This is exciting! The additional full service hotel is part of the UL master plan, but what is an indoor sports arena at Cajun Field?

The indoor sports arena is the part that doesn't make sense to me, especially at Cajun Field.

Probably something like the Ponchatrain Center in Kenner that can host Volleyball tournaments and such.

Exactly. Watch the video in the link to the article and you will see some rough blueprints. It would host AAU tournaments as well and/or possibly Track & Field. Being the hotel will be UL owned, would it be included in the East Press Box at Cajun Field?
