And Tech's budget is closer to ULMs then they admit. They've been using FEMA money to fix their facilities and channeling all the actual funds to football. Now Davison is all taped out and the Duck Call guy has passed away. They aren't gonna be able compete in the new era of NIl. Just another mouth to feed
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT WE WIN BIG AND WIN NOW.
We have to make ourselves seen on the national landscape and position our program for the future. We absolutely cannot be in the same league with L.A.Tech. I am not being an elitist and saying we are to good to be associated with them I'm being a realist. We cannot coexist with them.
We have a recruiting advantage over them that took a long time to establish. While we won't lose everything because they have no funds to compete consistently. They will take enough that we will lose our advantage in the SBC West
little off subject, but can someone fill me in. Did Dave Schultz work for UL at anytime?
UL is about to get put over a barrel by the rest of the SBC…loyalty to the political powers of the state v staying in the SBC. The SBCE isn’t sitting back and waiting.
The ULM dynamic is a real wild card.
The ULTIMATE USL’ing it position.
To some extent you are correct. But ULM has the law behind them, they are a founding member in football and the SBC Bylaws protects all of us including UL. They would need and almost unanimous vote to be removed. I'm not sure ASU and UL would vote against them.
Now if the UL System Board comes back and forces them to make the decision because of audits and lack of funds, that is possible scenario. But be careful what you ask for when it comes to state politics.
