Tech is dead weight. Not interested in affiliating with them.
I don’t want Tech in the conference at all, but T-Joe turning the other cheek represents a paradigm shift for this state. Higher education here is rife with sabotage, pettiness, and a crab mentality. T-Joe allowing LaTech to join this conference is uncommon in Louisiana higher ed politics. Maybe this will foster a new era of cooperation and mutual advancement; perhaps making friends and banding together will counter the TSAB agenda of dividing and conquering.
I think Tech has their work cut out for them academically and athletically. College enrollment will likely trend down with the AI revolution, and they won't be able to punch above their weight anymore in this NIL/Transfer Portal Wild West. They can't afford enemies while trying to tread water.
You bet they will!! It will be a mega fight on day one! Never trust a communist and never trust Tek!
I am excited to have another football game on the schedule people will care about.
I would rather play them out of Conference, but now we have USM and Tech that are easy travel for fans and should draw decent crowds.
I will miss going to TX St but that rivalry never took off
They are already doing that on the CSNBBS board. They are saying ULL is necessary to tell the difference with ULM. They are real pricks and this will only get worse. The conference will have to deal with the name issue with the university, but the posters won't have to and will not abide by that. It will get ugly and a continuing battle for our name. Dr. S has got to stipulate that we are to be referred to as Louisiana. I doubt he goes so far as to say use UL, unfortunately. I hope the conference decides that they don't want 3 teams from Louisiana and since the Ruston and Monroe markets are only 30 miles apart, that Tech brings nothing to the table.
