Nick was correct in stating that UL Lafayette is a correct name for the academic institution.

Its accepted but it's not legal.
The law is simple, you can't use University of Louisiana by itself or UL for that matter.
Any time you do use University of Louisiana (or UL) you must include "at" and "Lafayette."
The legal name is "UL at Lafayette" meaning "UL Lafayette" breaks the law. The law gets so specific to the point of stating the "at" font cannot be less than 80% the size of UL.
The miss mesh is accepted so it is a non issue, just innacurate.
"Louisiana" however is 100% legal for athletics and academics.
So if UL doesn't follow the law the name police is coming to put UL in the name jail? Time the university grow a pair. UL Lafayette is our legal name...We go by UL or Louisiana end of story. If Tek wants to be an ass we can't stop them, but UL is to blame for supporting them to be in this conference to begin with. Never should have happened.
The most recent PPM disagrees.
