If you actually went to the games then you would have seen the attendance decline in person. I could go on and on about the way Deggs coaches whether it be base running, flipping the line up, etc. However, I am not a coach, just a lifelong season ticket holder and fan.
I have adjusted to Deggs style it is what it is.

I was just pointing out that you can not keep going up on the lifelong fans and put that product on the field.

    Nothing more nothing less.

If it continues to be a ____ show they will lose fans.

Baseball and softball results were totally unacceptable this past season. Both coaches better put on extra effort to markedly improve or they will lose a great deal of their fan base that remains. It's early but don't sense urgency, especially in softball.

Softball fan base is the most loyal but also the oldest and fading away fast. These folks will not for the most part pony up NIL money. As one poster mentioned the games looks like Tuesday night bingo at the senior citizen home.

Yep, in 10 years both baseball and softball games will empty. That goes for basketball and football, too.

    Unfortunately I agree.

We will have the best facilities in the country that nobody shows up to

History. There have been a whole lot more seasons like last year over the last 30 years than most people seem to want to remember.

That said, the current landscape is vastly different now, so who knows.

But to my point, if everyone stops supporting the programs (any or all of them) after one mediocre season, why have athletics at all? Without support, it will just get worse and worse across all of the sports.

I think basketball is the only sport that would be able to somewhat hold serve. You need relatively few pieces to compete nationally compared to the other sports and the unit payouts per NCAA tournament games are good.

I do agree with that, and kinda feel like it would be fun to throw all of the chips into the basketball basket with this new coach and see where he can take us.

Anyone hear anything about an assistant leaving?
