I have often wondered why the ncaa was so strict on alumni and boosters not being allowed to recruit. If a kid walks in to a store the guy behind the counter is not supposed to try and influence the recruit, but ncaa always turned a blind eye to HS coaches. They may not be boosters but are all alumni of somewhere and hold probably the most sway of anyone over their players, but if they support a p4 then by all means recruit away!

It’s not just sports. There was a teacher at Lafayette high who told her g/t students straight up they were too smart for UL and needed to go to State. She retired a few years back.

Did I mention her husband was a QB for the “Chinese Bandits?”

Davidson absolutely hated soccer, had a nickname for them which I won’t post. Ironically, that first championship they won was delivered by a soccer player at the end of the game.
