    Agree.

I honestly can't blame 66 year old Glasco for heading to Texas Tech, and let's be honest, those five girls he took with them likely weren't going to stay once he left. They were either following him, or going to head somewhere else.

He was looking to make the WCWS before retirement, and while this season could have lined up IF everyone stayed for such a run, he probably felt his chances were better if he could be at a program with the NIL dollars to recruit and retain top players. We don't have enough of that here, because of area loyalties to LSU...and admittedly, folks like myself who just don't want to give to a collective.

We don't have a Cody Campbell and John Sellers here for UL, unfortunately.

It would be like Welcome to Wrexham but on a collegiate level.
So true. Few million will get you there for baseball, softball, and basketball.
10s of millions will get you there for football.

Coach Dez still values the HS recruiting process. He feels he can get very good players that way as many are overlooked by schools that prioritize the portal. You then develop them and keep those you can. Worked pretty well last season. We will see if that plan can be sustained.

    I agree with his philosophy.

With so many schools going for proven talent the high school talent pool has never been greater.

What this will create is a team with freshmen going up against juniors with the freshmen being more talented than the juniors were as freshmen.

The question to be answered is; can raw talent beat experience.

We are still redshirting quite a few freshman. We will have redshirt freshman and sophomores competing against juniors at times.

Salary caps and luxury taxes did not always exist, ergo it is conceivable that (although not at college level) some have deemed that if left completely alone, unregulated and exponential growth in "salaries" at some point would not bode well for league survival.

To answer the question of the thread, yes it is continuing. TTU resigned their pitcher to another 7 figure deal for next season.

Should we start a can shake every weekend to retain our players?

Maybe we start a collective whose only purpose is to buy Powerball and Mega Millions tickets and hope that somewhere down the line, we win a billion dollar jackpot. That is the only way we ever sniff the big time in anything other than water skiing.

    Good point.
