Maybe those schools and fan bases are growing because of a lack of posts like yours

I was in the generation where they said you have to get a degree. If my boys don’t specialize in something like engineering or medical field they will be going to trade school for welding, electrician, Plumber, or AC repair. Lots of money in trades and is very much needed right now.
Correct. Go to college for a specific profession or learn a trade.

Apples and Oranges. Boone's avg population is around 19,400 and App. States undergrade population is 19,300, see the correlation? Add to the conversation 50 or more years of tradition to the discussion. Boone, NC is an authentic college town that has not been duplicated anywhere else in the South.

Sorry but their attendance has just about doubled in the last 4 years while their production has gone down. The correlation is that we do nothing to engage the student body and encourage them to attend games. Freshman orientation they go take a picture on the field of Cajun field. Wow big deal. That’s the last time the majority of those students will set foot in that stadium. They need to figure out incentives to get them back in the stadium then engage and entertain them once they are in the stadium. That’s the difference between us and app state.

Sir, the population is 20,017 according to the US Census. Their an average attendance in 2024 was over 34K, that is almost double the entire town. I stated that Boone is authentic college football town and App. State has tremendous football tradition over the past 50 years. Admitting to these facts is not giving UL a pass on missed marketing opportunities, but stating the obvious.

Now which fact are you actually arguing about?

Boones population has stayed around 20k but the football attendance has doubled in the last 4 years. How does that happen when their football production on the field has gone down since then? Those are facts.

I'm curious, where are you getting these stats that their attendance has doubled the last 4 years.

They've added seating and boxes in one end zone, continue to sell out Season tickets, regardless of the numbers, the point is they show up and take every available ticket.

    Has anyone disputed that?
