That has always been the case.

Not only that, but if you have an 'unspoken' six-figure commitment from a P5 school, are you going to throw that 0-2 slider that might be the one that torches your elbow? Dive into the stands or into the center field wall for a fly ball? Take that hit over the middle on 3rd and 6? Dive into the bench for a loose ball in the Cajundome?

It's a joke. We can pile up as much talent as we want, but that talent will always be making business decisions that have NOTHING to do with the impact on the Cajuns

How do you run a "pack" mentality team when everyone is in the business of themselves. Takes rare kids, especially in this era.

I only stated what I heard from someone in his inner circle. CMO is a competitor, hates losing and has been pitching injured since the West Coast trip early in the season. If it was just about money he would have taken an offer from Texas Tech after last season and not returned.

Knowing that players can now leave via portal for greater NIL and coaches can cut players yearly, I simply support anyone in the uniform now. And while I do enjoy watching specific athletes play like DeBarge, Higgs, Jose and a few others, it's unrealistic today to become too attached to them.

The coach's job is to win! Fix it, that's it.

    The answer is pretty obvious...

UL baseball will be at its best when they manage to keep an MLB talent into his final college season because we got lucky enough for P5's not to notice him early enough

I heard the same thing from a former player that C-Mo should have been shut down early in the season due to this injury and he pitched all season hurt. It is hard to tell a kid like that to hang them up for the season, when all he wants to do is compete and he still competed very well, just not C-Mo level.

You could say that for a number of kids this year. There were several that played hurt/injured that probably should not have been out there when they were. But everyone just gets mad at their performance when they are clueless to what is going on. Don't tell me these kids don't care.

The kids don’t care about “work while you wait”.

As evidenced by the BR freshman who decided to leave. Even though they saw significant playing time.
They were also Catholic of BR graduates. So I’m sure money wasn’t a problem. Could’ve been part of a resurgence in Cajuns baseball, but chose to leave.

    AKA they don’t care.

Zero reason Yuhasz should’ve been swinging a bat after the So. Miss series. And somehow he was still our best hitter in Montgomery.

You think the reason he left was because he doesn't care? Well over the half of the roster isn't returning next season. Some are leaving on their own, others were told they don't have a spot. Do they not care either?
