Haha. You’re probably not alone. He may have the school record for getting picked off

Here’s a list of every Cajun who’s met those 2 numbers in a season since 2013 (as far back as the stats go on the team website):

    2025
    Higgs
    Stelly

    2024
    Debarge
    Lafleur

    2023
    Roccaforte
    Brock

    2022
    Roccaforte
    Kimple

    2021
    (None)

    2020 (Covid year)

    2019
    Lott
    Cantrelle

    2018
    (None)

    2017
    Sensley

    2016
    (None)

    2015
    Clement
    Trosclair

    2014
    Adams
    Conrad
    Harrison

    2013
    Kjerstad
    Adams
    Harrison

Losing a guy that did that is a big loss, whether you want to believe it or not.
No one on that 2016 team that went .300 and 8 homers…yet we were a Regional host, in the driver’s seat, before losing two in a row to Arizona in the championship game. Arizona then places in the CWS Championship vs Coastal Carolina.

Man…really wish we could have had that Regional championship game back. Really didn’t think they were going to be able to beat us twice after we shlacked them 10-3 in the first game against them that tournament.

I just looked back at those box scores. That Arizona team was loaded. They had SEVEN future big leaguers.

And their ace, that HC Jay Johnson threw over and over in that regional, wasn’t one of them.

He was exactly what John Taylor was the last two years….and his bat was a big loss.

If everyone in the lineup hit .300 with 8 HRs, you’d have an excellent offense.

    It’s a big loss.
Hmm, that’s a big statement. He definitely wasn't as good as on overall player as John Taylor. Nor did he demonstrate the leadership or big game moments the way Taylor, DeBarge or LaFluer did.

Stelly is a great supplemental player, but not a guy who the team is built around. If fact I’d argue that we didn’t have any of those type of guys in the locker room this season.

When the bulk of your big individual donors are tapping out due to age, health, apathy and death, it’s time for the powers that be to get creative. And flipping to social media is nice, but obviously not getting it done.

People like Heymann, Foreman, Lamson, Mosing and such don’t grow on trees.

It involves work. Work is still hard in 2025.
    Working on it.

Nailed it. JT didn’t have an error until the last weekend and had similar offensive numbers + a clear cut leader in the locker room.

I was referring to him strictly as a hitter.

Hitters are replaceable. We were missing leaders this year. It was quite obvious.

This kind of thing is making it easier and easier to push college athletics further down my interests list. In the middle of a conference race our best players are already considering their exits and being vocal enough about it that it makes it back to fans?
