Coach Narcissist had a team that was good enough to get to OK City, for the 7th time. Wasn't good enough for him.

It absolutely was all about the "Money", and it will be the same for 2026! All about the "Money" she'll get!

Ill say this. Its not a good look for our program, when our coach leaves for another school...not even a top tier school....takes a good majority of your players with him, and they waltz right into the WCWS in his first year with your players. It kinda makes it look like our school can't get players to reach their full potential here...money or not.

This completely ignores the #1 pitcher in all of college softball, who has a 0.86 ERA, that went to Texas Tech for money.

Texas Tech BOUGHT, overnight, something that needed to be cultivated for over 30+ years at this university. Just compare these postseason appearances:

When you buy the best pitcher out there it helps your cause the most. If you can pitch elite and have even an okay offense, you'll be in every big game. From what I can see none of the transfers to TT made an All-American list. So, they were not super stars this year. Just good as they were here.

Davis' average dropped. So did Valdez. A few others had some improvement. Allred didn't have a full season last year (I think) so any playing time will look better.

Sam Landry is the only one that left UL and really excelled. The reasons for that have been noted already.

We had the talent here. Say what you want about Gerry, the dude could get players. This current staff needs to get new talent in, for sure. This summer is their first opportunity to do it. Hopefully they start making some exciting announcements soon.

*side note, we beat Ole Miss by 1 run too, so we matched them there *

The other knock over the head whamo was losing Sam Landry.

She really did not reach her potential here.

The difference in her case is, she was hampered by Glasco’s arrogance in experimenting with a baseball pitching coach. I do not fault the baseball coach for trying.

Money is not forgotten, but I feel like this playing-with-fire sentimentality was a contributing factor to everyone who exited or left the program. From Glasco down through the players.

Even if Glasco succumbed to fan sentimentality with less than experienced hires, the under achievements of his tenure were totally due to his relying on players already existing talent when they arrived and were exacerbated by his inability to coach them "up."

It is imperative in order to have players who reach their full potential you have to have a coaching staff that can "coach players up."

This!! Except for the part about Ole Miss…ha ha!

Rebels are a completely different team than who was in Lafayette at the beginning of the season. Their coach did a phenomenal job figuring out the pieces.
