Check out this story about his pitcher, Canady. GG knows how to recruit, but he's still a d i c k for leaving when his no.1 recruiting class would be seniors this season.

Could you imagine if Glasco would have gotten desired funds and convinced Canady to come to Louisiana for $500,000? I think everyone’s spoiled perception of him may be drastically different.
I’ve been teetering on the fence all season, but after reading that article and seeing how many SEC schools are in the World Series, I’m officially pulling for them vs Oklahoma for the championship!
That’s why I stated Oklahoma….the quasi SEC team vs non-SEC team.

Mike Leach applied at UL but was rejected for his interview style.
Success breeds success.

I read the article and was surprised to find that the reason Canady chose Texas Tech was because she was allowed to hit.
I watched Glasco do an interview after it was announced she was going to Texas Tech. He was driving in his truck as the interview took place. He said Canady did not go to Texas Tech for the money. He said she did so because her parents trusted him with their daughter. End of story. Is anyone naive enough to think the money had nothing to do with it?
I don't think the money was the issue. What she got at Tech is probably in the same neighborhood that she could have gotten most anywhere that was in the running for her services. I can see that the promise of being a two way player is what made her choose Tech over others.
I also saw in the article that the Sellers family has donated over $20,000,000 to Tech athletics with [now] over $2,000,000 of that going to Softball. Having spent a few of my formative years in the Lubbock area and knowing how folks in general who live there feel about Tech, I am not at all shocked that they were willing to put up the money for Canady's NIL.
I have a feeling that residents of Lubbock and its surrounding area have a much higher appreciation for their university than Lafayette and Acadiana do towards UL. That paired with deep oil money pockets has them rolling. Our potential deep pockets are split and siphoned across the basin, along with appreciation and admiration. Shame.
Only thing coming out of my pockets now-a-days is lint, so I have adjusted my expectations to match whatever discretionary income I am willing to part with.
