Thread: Moutaouakkil to Jacksonville State

  1. UL Basketball Moutaouakkil to Jacksonville State

Last season saw El Moutaouakkil lead the Ragin’ Cajuns’ scoring efforts with a team-high 14.5 points per game, ranking 12th in the Sun Belt Conference.

When your #1 point producer is #12 in the Sunbelt?

You better also have #13, #14, #15, and #16 to succeed.

Is my thought of my beloved university inflated?

Why would one transfer to Jacksonville State? I just learned a few years ago that this school wasn’t in Florida. Or maybe one’s self worth is slightly over inflated and this is their fall back crutch?

The new staff may not have wanted him here.

Or maybe the new staff didn’t see him as a good fit and told him to move on.

I knew Mo personally and he is a great kid, first time I met him was during a UL NIL meeting in Coach Marlin's office and we played a game of ping pong (FYI, the old man won 21-17, and he was pretty good). I also ran into him a number of other times once at a UL soccer game with my daughter and he was just a great guy, took a picture with her and had a blast. All that said, as much as I enjoyed him being here and as much as he was one of our only consistent scorers, I did not love his game. He was a one man show and unfortunately was selfish with the ball.
