Deggs with more head-scratching moves. First of all, I don’t get the Hess start. This team is FAR from good enough to beat anybody with a bullpen guy as a starter. So not only do you get a crap start from the guy, but you now burn a bullpen guy for multiple days (if we even get that far). You bring in McGehee and he actually puts up one of the better showings he’s had. And then once our offense actually puts up a couple runs up and we are within striking distance, you bring in back of the bullpen guys??? I have no faith that this team can actually come back, but it’s only a 3 run deficit and this is what you’re doing? The only logical explanation here is that Deggs wants this season to be over more than we do.
Marshall with bases loaded, one out. Need to hold them here.
And we give up 2 more runs. Now 7-2.
Finally get some momentum so let’s bring in a freshman who has pitched less than a full inning of baseball and someone who hasn’t pitched in forever. I get we’ll need our best arms to make it through the loser’s bracket. But how about we try to win this game?
Trimble comes in and gives up a walk and single and is now being replaced. Strange call to bring him in to begin with as well as Hebert who started the inning.
Head scratching that we pulled Mcgahee. He was doing fine. And to pull him after we get back 2
Wil Taylor comes in and gets the final 2 outs of the inning and prevents further damage. Good job there.
Now down 9-2 going to top of 8th. Looking bleak.
