I’m not close to being ready to move on from Deggs, but it’s straight from the horse’s mouth that Omaha is the expectation.
This year was…bad. I understand Dave’s point of view but I don’t remember a season where I saw so many BAD games.
He expects to get to Omaha…at some point. It’s not a realistic yearly expectation. And coaches say things to excite fans and motivate players all the time.
As far as this year, the rash of injuries have been mentioned over and over.
Nobody expected over 450 at bats from freshmen this season.
Three consecutive regionals, no way at this point this conversation should be taking place. And he projects that had Texas not played the night before late the Cajuns would have lost to them. Sorry, but the Cajuns took advantage of an opportunity presented to them, no one cares about possible scenarios after the fact.
No, it means Deggs took a chance bringing back a few veterans and went heavy on the underclassmen trying to build the team for another run over the next few years. He didn't get the results he wanted, it's his responsibility to fix it period. But some people forget Coach Rob had his own down years, starting the year after the CWS team in 2001, 8th in the SBC. He went heavy JC and it didn't work out. Coaches take chances, the difference between good or bad coaches is can they correct themselves.
Some of y’all are just still caught up on Robe.
3 straight regionals, until this season. The SBC isn’t some bum league.
