The army had higher signing bonuses when i joined military, yet i joined the navy with no bonus. One would think other things go into these equations but who knows now with social media and new generations and covid high schoolers.
A few thousand bucks decades ago compared to a lifetime retirement, i think i made the right choice, if only these players could be presented with guest speakers or more beneficial financial/ethics mandatory classes to replace the DEI ones
I will be surprised if either Smith or Wheeler leaves. It is possible, but I think both will be here next season. I would be more concerned about Vasquez and Liscano, but I don't think they are going anywhere either.
Did Troy fire their coach? Just wondering why they have so many in the portal
I want to clarify what I said about Vasquez and Liscano. There has never been an indication that either plans to leave. My concern is that both batted .275+ while both are in the Top 40 nationally in assists/game and are the SS and 2B for a team that led the nation in DPs, in spite of Vasquez missing 12 games. There are schools who might have a strong interest in signing a duo like those two.
As I pointed out yesterday, that there would be more than 1,000 players in the softball portal, there are currently a little over 1100. Almost 600 of which are division one players. When are the Cajuns going to pull the trigger? I'm getting a little nervous that the Cajuns may not be going in that direction. Coastal Carolina's season ended yesterday. It was announced today, one of their players is transferring to Georgia. Things are happening quickly.
