Thread: LSU Softball Regional

    Default Re: LSU Softball Regional

4 seeds failed to advance out of their regionals:
    #1 a&m (Liberty)
    #10 TSAB (Nebraska)
    #13 Arizona (Ole Miss)
    #14 Duke (Georgia)

BTW—pretty brutal comments on TSAB page after their loss, but DAYUM—a&m got SHREDDED for all the trash talk they did after named co-champs with OU….🙄😁
MANY THANKS to DUKE for eliminating COVID Chickens!!
Pulling for Fla St to do us a solid with TT next weekend!

Does this count as any regional/SR thread?

Some interesting takes on both sides of this issue

    Post pandemic softball:
17 teams seeded 1 through 8 have failed to advance to world series.
11 of them (65percent) have been from the S-E-C.

But, but, but they play a tough regular season conference schedule so they deserve to be ushered in regardless of their regular season record.

To be fair, your numbers are off. There are 15 teams in the SEC. Only 14 of them made it into the tournament. There are five in the World Series, so nine of them did not make it. So, more than half, 62.5% of the teams in the World Series are from the SEC.

This was cumulative over 5 tournaments... one of the schools was a top 8 seed and failed to advance 3 times

I fixed it.... SEC teams that advanced to world series, that beat a non conference team in SR and were in the SEC more than a season: 1 out of 8 (12 pct)
As a percentage of bids to their conf: 1 out of 14; 7 percent

  8. Default Re: LSU Softball Regional

SEC has the right side of the bracket locked down assuring a SEC finalist. Florida, Texas, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

Ole Miss is the solo SEC team on the left side.

Question, does SB and BB participants earn units like the MBB tournament?

If you're somehow trying to prove that the SEC is not a good conference, try again.

It is possible to be both good and also have too many teams in and too many hosting.... it is also possible to be good at a sport but not have altruistic motives to grow the sport.
