Been an interesting year nationally. I don’t think there’s a lot of question as to the hosts. Could be a little movement from what JMV posted, but I actually agree with all of his slots other than Texas Tech (solely due to perception of bias rather than metrics…I think he’s right as to what they should be).
Oregon is team #17, but they don’t have a good leg to stand on due to their poor schedule.
I got 15 of 16 correct on the hosting. I picked Virginia Tech and Oregon took their spot.
I think Oregon was purely a geography pick and trying to avoid west coast bias. Oregon, by metrics, did not have the resume to host IMO.
Texas Tech should not be a #12 seed (again by metrics) but they will be a tough postseason team. Miss St vs TTU could be a great matchup, though.
I hope Coastal Carolina represents the league well, but I’m not banking on it.
Two SEC teams are guaranteed a spot in the World Series. Four other SEC teams are pretty much locked in. If South Carolina beats UCLA, that will make seven. If Miss State upsets Texas Tech, then beats FSU, it could be an all SEC World Series.
I mostly like the chalk. I think the most likely upsets are, Nebraska over LSU, Stanford over Oregon, Virginia Tech over Alabama and Mississippi State over Texas Tech.
It feels so weird not having a dog in the hunt.
