I hope we have several impact players visiting the softball program very soon.

Can confirm not one Florida school has reached out to Wheeler as of this posting. UCLA or Duke is where I think she will end up.

I feel like the softball program has faced a lot of adversity last few years. Full-fledged mutiny with Lotief, massive upheaval and poaching/desertion when Glasco abruptly left, and now the aftereffects of a seemingly mini mutiny put down (letting Shellie Landry go).

Are we basically going to have another down year next year while Coach Habetz can finally make this her program? Guess it's worth it if it gives us some stability in the long run.
Pitching coach change isn’t just an easy out, it’s a valid excuse. She was recruited by completely different coaches, chose to remain committed and worked with a new pitching coach, and now that coach is gone as well. Too much instability, I don’t blame her.

The problem is we haven't hired a coach yet.

You’re on a roll. Right about everything so far this offseason from coaches being let go to players transferring in or out.

Are there any rumors concerning new coaches?

Louisiana State Law requires the position to be posted. Coach Habetz can unofficially have a candidate of her choice in mind, and maybe talk with Wheeler but it would not be official until the hire is approved.

This is true for every sport including football. My question would be does she not want to finish what she started here with her teammates? She wasn't a bench player, but a starter. It's a question I've asked others in the past. If the answer is no, then she probably needs to leave anyway.
