He is for the poor and disenfranchised; that is considered by some today to be woke. I read that he is not a supporter of gay marriage, which should please many conservatives.

He's the first American Pope, am I correct on that?
Being for the poor and disenfranchised doesn't make him woke. Progressives are the far left Democrats who are anti-Trump and all that conservatives stand for. Pope Francis was anti-Trump and was against the closing the border and was for allowing anyone to come in our country. We couldn't have a border but the Vatican could and does. I am Catholic but was not a fan of Pope Francis as were many Catholics. Another pope with the same liberal ideology will not be good for unifying the church. I guess we will see.

    That's what the Sumerians said.

    No, it was the Egyptians.

    Sorry, I mean the Persians.

No, that's not right. It was the Romans.

Whoops, I meant the Tang dynasty.

Or was it the Han? Hmm... the Qin?

    The Zhou. Definitely the Zhou.

He has links to the Lemelles of St Landry Parish along with the other links stated earlier.
    Neat.
This guy has amazing creds. It’ll be interesting to see what he focuses on initially.

Carter got an NIL deal from Rome. He couldn’t pass it up. Pretty much means steady work later.

Peru? I have a family member who was involved with Biden's security while in Peru in December 2024. He was there checking out the railroad being built by or tax dollars. We need a new bridge in Lake Charles and our fabulous govt. is building a railroad in Peru while our debt continues spiraling upwards.

Whoa! Good thing there is no precedent for consorting with different kinds of people... like, say, publicans and sinners.

Obviously, it's a nickname for 'pater'... but that's 3rd declension. 'Papa' is 1st, which I had thought was always feminine, but it's masculine. Exception, I guess.

By the way, have I mentioned here that there are still a few priests in the Vatican who converse with one another in Latin, even today?

And with that, the Latin version of Asterix was translated by the Vatican, I assume to supply all of the many Catholic schools around the world...
