Thread: MLB: Brandon Young

  1. NFL, NBA, MLB MLB: Brandon Young

Former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns right-hander Brandon Young was called up by the Baltimore Orioles on Friday and became the 18th player in school history to be called up to the Major Leagues.

Young, a two-year letterwinner for Louisiana from 2019-20, will make his Major League debut on Saturday when he faces the Cincinnati Reds at Camden Yards. In two seasons with the Ragin’ Cajuns, Young posted a 6-5 record with a 3.65 earned run average with 109 strikeouts in 79.0 innings.

Not a great start. Gave up 7 hits and 3 runs in 4 innings. No decision but the Os won.

Just a side trivia note. There’s a familiar last name on the Orioles roster.

Dang. Hopefully it won’t be his last. Trivia question I don’t know the answer to:

How many of the 18 former Cajuns called up to the big leagues were pitchers vs position players?
