UL Chamber Singers Chosen among 11 for International Competition

So Long, Farewell!

The UL Chamber Singers were selected as one of eleven choirs worldwide to participate in the CantaRode international choir competition in the Netherlands this May. In this prestigious event, they will compete against choirs from Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Uganda, Belarus, Slovenia, and the USA.

The Chamber Singers will hold a final performance in the U.S. before departing for Europe: a Farewell Concert event on Monday May 19th at 7pm in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. This unique concert event will showcase the Chamber Singers' artistry, sharing the music that they will sing during the multi-day European competition: a stunning program of an hour of music spanning 500 years of choral art, in eight languages, and featuring musical styles from Eastern Orthodox sacred music to vocal jazz.

Admission is free and open to all.
