The base pay for Lafayette Parish teachers could increase and teachers could see a change to incentive pay.

Superintendent Francis Touchet Jr. is proposing raising first-year teachers' pay to $50,000 and creating an incentive pay based on teaching assignment and one based on student growth. He is scheduled to discuss his plan during the school board's Thursday meeting.
