Ragin' Cajuns open spring season needing veterans, newcomers to fill holes

When the UL Ragin’ Cajuns football team hit the field as a complete unit to start the spring season Tuesday, it was a beginning of sorts.

But for the coaching staff, the building blocks in constructing the team for the fall began with meetings and workouts in January.

The way UL coach Michael Desormeaux saw it, his players had one of two options — be satisfied winning the Sun Belt West Division last season or be angry about losing the conference championship game.

Opening a new stadium, exciting new transfers, coming off of a successful season…you’d think they would try to capture the excitement in the community.
