Default UL Student Orientation Leaders Win Awards in 9-State Region

Several student leaders at the University of Louisiana were recognized during the National Orientation Directors Association’s regional conference earlier this month in New Orleans.

NODA’s focus is orientation, transition and retention practices in higher education. Its Region VI Southern Regional Orientation Conference offers professional development, educational sessions and symposiums for administrators, faculty and staff members, and students.

“They help incoming students learn how to navigate campus, introduce them to academic and extracurricular opportunities, provide information about campus resources and, most importantly, put them at ease,”

I went to the site... I saw the UL hand sign (athletic origination)

    I saw "Ragin Cajun" spirit.

I saw (the above) "extracurricular opportunities"

I saw nothing actually promoting Game Day.

    The article is not clear:
    A. Who did we beat and
    B. Are the awards actually for UL having a good orientation, or was it simply for a good performance the conference

The 9 state regional can't possibly include Texas. I don't know if any school anywhere in the country can beat Texas A&M's orientation into freshman life and the culture and tradition of that school. Wish we could learn something from it.

We’re in region 6. LA east to coast. North to KY, including NC. Ark in region with TX.
I think awards are individual awards. Recognition versus dept or team awards.
