
Coming off a Sun Belt Conference series win at South Alabama, Louisiana's Conor Higgs was named the league's Player of the Week.
Higgs went 5-for-11 (.455) overall in four games last week with three home runs, six RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases. Higgs began the week with a 2-for-3 performance, including a solo home run, on Wednesday at Southeastern Louisiana before going 3-for-8 with two homers, five RBI and five runs scored at South Alabama.
The senior outfielder opened the series on Friday going 1-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored in a 7-1 win. Higgs capped off the series on Sunday with homers in his first two at-bats and added a sacrifice fly in a 9-3 victory.
Higgs, tied for the SBC lead in home runs, is hitting a team-high .338 on the season with nine homer and a team-best 17 RBI.
