Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t think it was just the diamond sports that were canceled. And not sure what you mean by winning. I thought that was due to the 2002 baseball regional when all hell broke loose in the stands (and the field).

I do think you are on to something here. Feels like we are getting closer to doing away with any academic requirements in D1 athletics than anything else.

Best thing NCAA could do at this point is eliminate the term “student-athlete.”

Nothing happened in the stands. There was zero reporting on stand violence.

Myths grown out of the cancellations.

Nothing more than posturing and pointing on the field and players coming to the edge of the dugout.

The cancellations were 'protectionist' nothing more nothing less.

Sorry..my low self-esteem blinded me for a second. It tends to do that when I need to be educated on why I should give 2/5ths of a s__t what some LSU intern is told to type in on a scoreboard.

Thankfully my low self esteem also allows me to not care about anything that school or its fanbase does.

Gives me the freedom to always tell people my favorite school is UL and whoever is playing LSU.

I’ll play along. Agree with your point coaches don’t care what’s on the scoreboard, if they are actually (you know) a coach.

But there’s no need to start up something with the LSU softball coach. It would get back to the school that we called them“LSUA&M,” etc, and it’s just needless.

UL-LSU softball can actually get along. And I think it’s great that they play a home and home every year. UL softball can stand on its own against LSU on the field.

I personally don’t think it’s wise for UL to pull off childish antics on the scoreboard. And I don’t care what they do.
