Default Behind Enemy Lines: LSU's Jay Johnson

We go behind enemy lines tonight as we welcome LSU Baseball Head Coach Jay Johnson to chat about the upcoming game against Louisiana on Tuesday, and Nick goes head-to-head with @AYSSports founder Blake Ruffino to chat about their past rivalry and upcoming baseball game in Baton Rouge.

That’s awesome! I’m glad LSU and Coach Johnson can see how vital the RR podcast can be.

Too bad we have an SID/Athletics Dept/Admin that are opposed to them.

Like I said before, no entity makes more LSU fans that our administration.

I think the cherry on top to this poop sundae of RR's inability to interview our players and coaches would be if the guy's could get Kelvin Sampson on to discuss Coach White before Coach White himself. Crazy thing is with some of the big names they've gotten on, it's not outside the realm of possibility that it could happen. Good for the guys, but what an absolute embarrassment for the university.

    We have some
More fossils that need to retire to pave the way to the new media age. When will they realize we must this?

How is it a big time SEC program is good letting their coaches do a podcast interview with these guys, but our own university isn’t?

Great interview, fellas! This SHOULD be embarrassing for the UL administration, but I don't think they care enough to be embarrassed

    A. Are we sure anyone asked administration
    B. Are these TSAb really coming on for the reasons stated or because they are confident they will win

I’m enjoying seeing you guys hit stride with the pod.

But doesn’t Learfield control the media rights to UL athletics? Therein may be the issue of getting UL interviews…direct competition.

Keep doing what works for the pod. Eventually minds will change, step away from confrontation with UL. Don’t need that mucking up the waters when the right time comes. The chance will come one day, just have faith and patience.

Not only a big time sec school but they are the premier baseball program in the country. I know the hate some have for them but it would be silly to deny the fact that they are also one of if not the most recognizable and desired brands in all of college sports. To have 2 of their head coaches on in back to back weeks is admirable. Good job guys.

After watching the interview with MAT a few years ago, I thought this segment with AYS was going to go differently. Both sides were uncomfortably amicable, and it felt wrong.

Both coaches from Baton Rouge and AYS appear on Ragin Review in a matter of weeks and they were pro interviews. Getting that line up before a coach from our own university. Never thought we'd get to that point and it's sad.

They may, but this stance predates Learfield.

If however Learfield does restrict valuable exposure... this is not something UL can ill afford to pass on.
