I will go ahead and play along since most folks on this site give me way too much credit as a softball guy. That was a bad decision. The runner at 2B was going to score on a hit anyway with the outfield playing back. We had two shots with Cissy and Smith to get a hit. We wasted one shot to advance a runner 60ft with a slow runner bunting.
I like this coaching staff but in my eyes overall they arel mostly lacking experience. Yes Aly has 25 years of coaching but she has zero years of having to make every single decision. She will have to improve on in game situations and that will take some time. I believe she will learn from those descions and chalk them up to experience. Lacy has mostly been an assistant coach with only one year of calling the shots. Shelbie is a suoer star but she is still only 2 1/2 years in and doesn't have much to work with. This is Shellie first time as the hitting coach on her own. It will take some time for those coaches to mesh.
As far as players everyone knows the talent that left. Keep in mind the two top pitchers on staff may not even pitch this season. We have six players that haven't played this season because of injuries and we have three more that have missed time due to injuries. That's over a 1/3 of the team. Glasco #1 class had 12 players and 3 1/2 years later only two of those players are Cajuns. The next few off seasons will be critical. The class that came in this year is Glasco class and every year his class has got worse since his #1 class. We needed those kids this year just to fill a roster. The next class coming in is also Glasco class and I will try to be nice but I don't see much help coming with that class either. I trust in this staff and I know they will get it all figured out. It may take a little time. I am hoping they can get hot at the end of the season and win the conference tournament.
