Default RR Lagniappe - Hosana Kitenge

We have a Lagniappe episode today as we had the pleasure of chatting with Hosana Kitenge! We chat about his time with the Cajuns, his favorite places in Lafayette and what life looks like after basketball. This was a fun one, you don't want to miss out!

Rooting for him to stay even more. He's a favorite for sure.

The situation is funny. He's in the portal. White is actively recruiting him in the introductory conference. He's on Ragin Review (which I'm guessing is possible as he is in the portal otherwise the admin would have a fit?)

    It's 2025.

Hope he re-commits and sticks around. Wish him the best regardless, high-class guy.

Yep. It was nice hearing from his perspective of things in that format.

As he and the RR hosts mentioned getting to know the players on a personal level would lead to more fan engagement and attendance. I hope he stays for 1 more year but rooting for him either way

I really enjoy this interview and getting to know the players personally.

I continue to be amazed that UL will not allow the Ragin Review guys to interview UL Coaches and/or players. It seems to me that by allowing these types of interviews, fans would get a chance to know these guys/gals more as people and not just bodies on a field or court. This in itself could possibly lead to better attendance at times. I am a fan that tries my best to support our teams the best I can, regardless of the situation. But others may be more inclined to attend games if they feel they have a more personal relationship with the players and coaches by getting to know them through such interviews.
Personally, I know that I have had a mostly positive change in my opinion of the Coaches of teams that the Ragin Review guys have interviewed from OTHER schools we have played or will play! Why could not the same thing happen by listening to interviews of our own people?

If you are a UL Administrator reading my post, please get off of your "high horse" and start operating like a MAJOR University and start allowing others to interview our Coaches and players like all of our competition is apparently happy to do!

For some reason UL will not let anyone without media credentials to interview players or coaches.

This started when David Walker moved over from Martin Hall and became Athletic Director. It was roughly about the time Scott Farmer was hired as his assistant.

That is what I understand to be true. But WHY! Everyone else apparently doesn't have that requirement. I guess San Jose, Nebraska, LSU, Troy, Cal Irvine, etc. should consult with UL's administration to learn how a real R1 University handles the media!!!! All of these schools have allowed their coaches to be interviewed by Ragin Review. But UL is above them I guess.

Again UL sabotags itself without any help from RP

Every athlete at UL has a story, let them tell in some way that's not 10 second sound bite...
