UL should absolutely be at the table when it comes to growing tech businesses in the Lafayette Region. The university is known for having a great computer science program. However, this is only one part of a complex puzzle. Lafayette must make investments to improve schools, roads, and further develop areas outside of the Ambassador Cafferey/Kaliste Saloom corridor to attract the next Amazon, Google, or SpaceX. In addition, efforts to beautify the gateways to Lafayette along I-10 would be a nice start.
Hope the funding to expand fiber is released. We can expand out from small existing clusters without it. And LA doesn’t have the cash to do it without the feds help.
