I’ll cut him some slack since the program has been trending up every year since he got here…But in 2025 Matthew Deggs may have fielded the worst team this program has seen in the last 20 years.

2012 wasn’t very good. Finished a few games below .500. I just remember getting throttled by ULM 17-0 and that just sealed the season.

But I get the sentiment. We are hardly competing right now.

I remember last year after the slow start Deggs said they made an adjustment to their approach at the plate. After that adjustment they went on the run. Haven't seen any sort of adjustment from this team yet. Or if there was one, we haven't seen it work. Where is that adjustment this year?

Very true. Trying to accept that this team is just bad but man it’s tough.

Is broadcasting a Softball and Baseball game at the same time on ESPN plus. Maybe someday our school will be big time like that.


Granted it sounds like the student commentators for baseball will be absolutely atrocious and that’s before the first pitch even takes place. But thats what we got Jay and Bab for.

14 different guys got ABs tonight, 6 of them freshmen and 2 sophomores

It looks like the goal is to get experience in the midweek, and try to win the weekend. Chase Morgan is supposed to be back this week. It’ll be tough without Dylan Theut (ankle surgery) but that’s about the best strategy that can be used at this point.

As of right now, this team has played the #9 toughest schedule in the country.

SOS for both UL’s stick sports mean nothing when losses against less than average teams pile up.

Both come down to 6 games in May.
