Why would he go to NC State over Texas? Not even a choice. Bigger budget and better league.

It is looking like Will Wade is headed to NC State. Several reports coming out that it is a done deal. The hiring of Wade by McNeese worked out well for them even if only for 2 years. Two NCAA Tournament appearances, the same number of NCAA Tournament appearances as it took Marlin to get to in 14 1/2 seasons. As a UL fan happy to see him go. Really did not like him when he was a pompous jerk at LSU, but he seemed to have mellowed during his time at McNeese. Very happy with our new head coach who can hopefully turn our recent fortunes against McNeese around as losing to McNeese is unacceptable.

He graduated from Clemson, did a 2 year GA stint there. Two assistant gigs, and NCSU will be his 5th HC job. All D1 jobs. Would guess he’s just marking time with Clemson being his objective.

I have to give him credit for good career progression, even with the bump down to McNeese. He stayed in the press, name was still out there on the national level in a good vein.

But WW learned his lesson. He told his players what is happening. While at LSU, he wasn’t so forthcoming with his history.
