Default UL Prof Auter Heads BoR Task Force; Employees May See Retirement Boost

Louisiana’s higher education employees could see better retirement prospects

The Louisiana Legislature will consider a wish list of retirement reforms college and university faculty and staff have suggested, all aimed at keeping tenured professors and critical employees from leaving the state.

House Bill 24 by Rep. Tony Bacala, R-Prairieville, incorporates most of the recommendations put forward by a Louisiana Board of Regents’ task force, which was created by a resolution Bacala sponsored in the 2024 legislative session.

What I think these Universities have too much of are: Liberal foreign faculty with poor English skills. I have heard too many nightmare stories about my friends sons complaining of not understanding them in the lectures they give and one professor of Hispanic origin told his son he had to remove his jacket from his classroom with an American Flag on it. My only regret is not finding who that POS was

    And your solution is???

Few conservative English speaking PhDs are around I guess.

I don’t know if our foreign born engineering profs are conservative or not but I thank God everyday we have them. Some are a bit hard to understand. But then some would say so were some of my older relatives. Or me.

If you’re talking about some profs in general arts, can’t speak to that. At least they can find US profs.
