Before we do anything, it has to start with a mindset.
For years here, we had a basketball staff that promoted what we DIDN’T have. (We don’t have money. We don’t have basketball culture in the south anymore. We don’t charter flights. We don’t have NIL. We don’t have this. We don’t have that.) That’s a failing model if you’re trying to make a sales pitch, and it showed by the awful attendance numbers even after making the NCAA tournament two years ago.
If we want to succeed here, Coach Q is going to have to go into the community and talk with small business and donors about his vision and what it will take to make it happen. Then, it’ll be up to the community to decide whether or not they want to participate. But in order to get that type of support, you have to ASK. In the past, we never did that. Hopefully, that now changes because his vision based on what we said in his press conference is the right one.
Every Cougar who hits the floor gives maximum effort for every second they are in the contest. That applies regardless of the score. That is why they blow out weaker opponents at times and never are out of a game until the final whistle. You have to respect a team with that attitude. Hopefully, the Cajuns do the same next season.
Agree. We’ve been hearing that from “fans” for years. We need to step up to get this program back to where it belongs. No more excuses.
Congratulations to coach White and the Cougars.
Who you got? Florida has the talent to win this...Houston has the grit and enough experience..Hate to say it, but Clayton Jr is a matchup nightmare...Florida by 5
After watching Clayton, Jr. Saturday night began thinking FL was team to beat. Then after watching Houston in the clutch against Duke, picking the Coogs in a nailbiter.
Coin flip. I’m just excited to watch the guard play on both sides. Clayton and Martin vs Cryer, Uzan and Sharp. Dynamic offense vs lock down defense. If anyone can rebound with Houston it is Florida. If anyone can somewhat contain Clayton it is Houston. Interested to see if they put Mylik Wilson on him. It should be a fun game. Pulling for Houston and coach Q. Geaux Coogs!
Talked to a friend in Houston yesterday. He said the whole city is excited about the Cougars after that win Saturday night.
