100%. We have 5 starters from last year that left to play at P4 schools (and 2 pitchers). And some of the top recruit freshmen are hurt. This team is basically last years JV. The fact they’ve won some of the games they have is pretty impressive.

How many base running errors we have made this year. Especially leaving the bag too early.

I remember the previous head coach would get killed by fans for baserunning errors and girls getting thrown out at home. Looks like it wasn't specific to just Coach Glasco.

My unprofessional theory, which that and $4.65 might get you a cup of coffee at some smanshy coffee house...

We can't outslug opponents like we used to. Certainly not the P4s, as they've started dumping more money and resources into softball over the past 10 years to woo recruits and hire top notch hitting coaches. We have to be aggressive on the bases. We have to try to force the other team to get anxious make errors in the field. That's going to lend itself to outs on the basepaths.

Now that said, certainly need to fix the complete unforced baserunning errors, such as leaving the bag early. But I just think this even overly aggressive style of offensive softball is something we'll need to get used to with our program.
