Not a lateral move, going from the SBC to the AAC, the AAC was the 11th best conference in basketball, the SBC was the 18th. The Tampa/St Pete area is 1000% better than Jonesboro. USF has a much higher ceiling in basketball than ASU. There is no comparison between USF and stAte. No offense to stAte.

Had 2 chances to parlay a tournament championship to a P4 job. Couldn’t do it, so took a better mid-major job.

There’s a long term impact. Now the good majority of the money chasers end up with no offer and out of a free ride for many a life changing education.

At some point, it will be the universities’ fault and lawsuits will abound. Over a system the players wanted.

If you take out Duke, Michigan State, and Purdue there are only 14 players out of 13 schools that started there so an average of only one per school. Absolutely disgusting what has happened.
